Are you looking to take the plunge into a career in mining? Then why not enrol for the Surface Coal Mine Safety Skill Set (also known as Standard 11) course! This is a nationally recognised qualification which will set you on your way to becoming an entry–level worker in a coal mine environment.
The purpose of this skill set is to provide participants with all the site safety standards required within Queensland‘s coal mining industry. By completing assessments and working through Gold Training‘s Skills Experience Logbook, you‘ll obtain a Statement of Attainment – granting you access into an amazing world full of rewarding opportunities!
With this course, we’ll equip you with all the knowledge and skills necessary for safe operations within coal mines; from understanding traffic management plans right throughto being able to assess fire risk underground. Additionally, you’ll learn how to use emergency communication systems and complete basic rehabilitation activities too! Course Details
Our face–to–face training option is delivered over three days by experienced trainers – once completed and signed off, you’ll receive a Statement of Completion.
To really help ingrain those skills though, and get yourself a full Statement of Attainment – participants are required to complete something called Site Based Skills and Experience Logbook which needs signing off by their workplace supervisor before they‘re done.
But wait, it doesn‘t end after these two steps – in order for those vital industry qualifications to remain valid, refresher courses every five years are compulsory. No need to stress though because at Gold Training we offer an online refresher course through CoAssemble – our learning management system – enabling participants complete this part at their own pace while ensuring they stay up–to–date!
