Course Overview
This refresher course is designed to keep you up-to-date with current industry standards and practices in the coal mining industry, allowing you to continue working on a surface coal mine site in Queensland. The programme provides training and assessment for 6 key competencies specified under The Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII) Units of Competency as per The Recognised Standard 11: Training in Coal Mines (Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999). These competencies are critical components that must be updated every 5 years.

If you‘re looking to refresh your Standard 11 qualifications and make sure you stay on top of everything, our S11 Refresher Course is just what you need. But first things first – before we can get started, it‘s important that you meet the pre–requisites for this course.
To be able to complete the refresher course, a student needs to provide a copy of their existing Standard 11 qualification. If you are not able to provide this, unfortunately, you will need to complete the full course instead.
As part of Mining Legislation requirements, all standard 11 competencies must be refreshed every five years in order for workers to remain qualified and safe on site. But of course, shorter periods may still be required depending on what company or industry standards are at play. That’s why we make sure our courses stay up-to-date so you can always stay ahead of the game in mining safety training – no matter which direction the winds blow!

Studying online lets me study at home and complete the modules when I can, without locking myself into face-to-face courses. Meaning I keep the boss happy at work. I have learnt a lot about Leadership and Management.
